Greg said, "I know that back ordered sofa took the air outta your stream." Boo hiss. Yes. He knows me pretty darn well. That empty space where the perfectly sized, compact, rounded to fit the front end of an airstream, copper sleeper sofa is supposed to be right now is bothering me. It's a personality defect of mine. So, what's a defective girl to do????
'As with most FarmSmith projects, some things are going well and some not so much. Just as I was hitting my stride two nights ago and thinking to myself, "hey, I could rip out this not so lovely bathroom and put in something...um... better", I heard a"POP" and then came eery silence. Air conditioners are such temperamental machines. I can't seem to Google my way out of this literal hot mess as of yet. (I'll keep you posted) but needless to say that the bathroom makeover has been postponed.
In the kitchen: The kitchen was missing some of the tambour cabinet doors. Because of our two week time frame for the remodel, I installed the curtain rod and cut down a cafe curtain to the shorter length to work in its place. I used the coordinating valance above the sink (rolled around the roller shade pole and draped at corners to take care of extra length). I painted the refrigerator with chalk board paint, added in lots of little hooks, baskets, liners and IKEA "stuff". Carson was commissioned for the original Airstream artwork on the wall. He's pricey but excellent at what he does with aluminum foil, markers and cork.
My goal: have this thing all shiny and ready to go when Greg lands next week. Things coming along. The fact that you can see the flash & my reflection in the oven is proof of that ;). Couldn't resist temporarily turning hunting cabin alters into a light fixture until our wall cabinet comes in ;). Wish me luck!!!!
Learning to love what is. Epic Odyssey. And the story winds along...
