Our oldest daughter, Ollie, and I have had many talks and prayed together countless times over the past month.  She is an amazing kid.  It was during my devotion time this morning that I realized, wow!, Jesus has truly called this child to His mission field.  She gets it- being a light and showing God's love- maybe even more so than I get it..  She has no money.  Ollie gives herself- her time, her talents and her treasures.  She gives them fearlessly and without reserve.  That kind of giving of self is empowered by Jesus himself. It is rewarded and refueled by the only One who can sustain such sacrifice.  Thank you, Jesus, because as a Mom, my natural tendency is to try to protect her from this kind of vulnerability but I know that this is exactly where we have all been called as followers of Christ.   We have had our prayer and mission organization, My House Athens, Inc. operating for almost three years.  Ollie has gone with me to some of our outreaches here in the Athens area but now God has touched her in a new way through four special kids from Ukraine.  She is READY TO GO HARD FOR THE LORD! Right now, only God knows what that looks like but nonetheless it is an exciting thing to see your kid living her faith.  May all our children be set on fire to show the love of Jesus to the world.   Peace, love and the hope of Jesus to you from the farm today!  ~L

At the Altar...

I have tried unsuccessfully to update this blog many times over the past week.  There is just so much activity and emotion going on here.  We will take the kids back to the airport very (like crazy middle of the night) early tomorrow morning.  This is our last day.  My heart is in a tangle... it has been for more than a week.  It is times such as these, all we can do is give everything (everything) to the God that spoke the universe into existence and loves us more than our minds can fathom.  I appreciate your prayers and continued love and support.  Broken but full of faith, hope and love in Athens, ~L
